GTA Online's Diamond Casino Now Locked for Australian Players

GTA Online's Diamond Casino Now Locked for Australian Players

Australian GTA Online players have lost access to the Diamond Casino's games and lucky wheel, blocking them from winning the rarest car in GTA 5.

Australian players in GTA Online have been cut off from the Diamond Casino, losing access to its gambling features and the lucky wheel — the only in-game way to obtain GTA 5's rarest vehicle. According to Dexerto, the restriction means players in Australia can no longer participate in any of the casino's games, putting the country in the same boat as several others where local gambling regulations have forced Rockstar to restrict access.

The Diamond Casino & Resort has been a staple of GTA Online since it launched in 2019, but its real-money-adjacent mechanics have always been a sticking point in countries with strict gambling laws. Australia joins a list of nations where the feature is either partially or fully blocked, and this latest lockout comes more than seven years into the casino's existence on the platform.

The biggest practical hit for Australian players is losing any shot at the lucky wheel's top prize vehicle — a car that has no other legitimate acquisition method in the game. If you're not spinning, you're not winning, and now an entire country is locked out permanently.

It's a timely reminder that GTA Online's content isn't uniformly available worldwide, and with Grand Theft Auto VI on the horizon, questions about how Rockstar will handle region-specific content restrictions in the new title are worth watching. Whether GTA 6 takes a different approach to gambling mechanics — or faces the same regulatory headaches — remains to be seen.
